Purple hybrid mattress Review

Purple is the best mattress tech advancement in 80 years. Mattresses and pillows come with free delivery, free returns, and a 100-night trial and is one of the biggest names in the bed in a box market, and are unique in that they use a hyper-elastic polymer to make up the comfort layer of the mattress.

The Purple hybrid mattress features a ‘Smart Grid’ layer of elastic polymer reinforced with buckling-column gel. The support core features pocketed coils, and the cover is woven from a polyester and spandex blend.

Product and Price Range: The Purple mattress is available in five sizes: Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. The New Purple is available in Twin XL, Queen, King, and California sizes. Price-point varies by size, model and — in the case of the New Purple — mattress thickness; a full price breakdown is found in the ‘Pricing and Delivery Details’ section. All Purple mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Firmness: When pressing into the top of the mattress, the initial feel is of the hyper-elastic polymer. It is very bouncy and responds quickly to pressure. After adding more weight and force to my push into the mattress I do start to feel the transition layer of foam beneath, but the polymer smart grid on top does a good job of weight distribution, so most of the feel comes from the comfort layer.

Availability: The Purple mattress is available on the Purple website, as well as other online retailers like Amazon.com. Purple does not operate any brick-and-mortar locations.
